This will be a place where I share stories about the incredible women I get to capture in front of my lens! I will also share client stories, personal journeys, tips & tricks for other aspiring photographers and so much more! The more you engage and let me know what you’d like to hear about, the better the content will be!! It’s a place for you and me to get to know each other a little better by giving you a little glimpse inside of my world.
So let me start by sharing a little about myself…I am pretty much an Arizona native. I Moved to Scottsdale (from Mountain View, California) when I was just 5 years old. I grew up in Arcadia and moved onto to college at the University of Arizona. This is where I acquired my degree in Graphic Design & Marketing – Go Wildcats!
My dream was to go to FIDM in New York to pursue Fashion Design, Pasadena Art Center to pursue Graphic Design, but when push came to shove, I didn’t Reeeeeallly want to be that far away from my home base. Besides, It was far enough to establish my new found independence, but close enough to get a hot meal and do some laundry! I saw that as a great compromise.
After completing my undergrad and holding an Art Director position with a local ad agency in Phoenix, I decided to move to San Diego. This is where I took on another position as Senior Art Director at Harcourt Brace Publishing. It was a fun time being inside the publishing world and I loved being part of the world. I learned SO much!!
After about 5 years in San Diego, my fiance and I decided to hightail it to Los Angeles – “The City of Angels”. This is where I became Senior Designer for Launch Music, which was acquired by Yahoo™ and became Yahoo™ Music. This was all during the web boom and bust. So many talented people there! I am still friends with many of them — still to this day. It was a pivotal time in history to be living in the epicenter of Los Angeles and to be at the forefront of the web music scene. Thank you Yahoo™ (Launch) for some GREAT memories!
After putting in my time at La-La Land, my husband and I decided to move to Palm Springs to purchase some real estate. We lived there for less than a year and decided that we would like to start a family, build a new place home, and move BACK to Scottsdale.
Fast forward 24 years and I am a single mother of a beautiful (soon-to-be) high school graduate and loving the desert more than ever. As a child growing up in Arcadia, I couldn’t wait to move somewhere — anywhere but Arizona! My father always told me that I would come back to the desert and he was right! I definitely appreciate it much more now. However, don’t be surprised if you find me moving to London or Paris within the next 10 years. Europe has my heart — along with NYC and Maui.
